I have a 1998 Furby named Kah-Dah and she’s the sweetest ever. She has never woken up in the middle of the night, even if I left her batteries in, and she has never done anything scary.
The one time one of my Furbies DID do something scary however, was when I was playing with my sister’s Furbling and he said “press one” like a phone. It kinda scared me but just recently I found out he actually said “test one” and that was a test mode I didn’t know about!
