a mobile game developed by hutch, a company known for innovative racing games such at rebel racing and MMX hill dash.
smash bandits is basically about a gang who profits by smashing objects around a wonderful made map and TV rating going up, you have to do this while you are being chased by progressively harder and harder to evade and destroy cops equipped with road blocks, tyre puncture traps, and the ability to ram, which you also posses. you also have an arsenal of car from a Hennessy venom to a nasa car and hutch's famed A-team van, along with ability such as tank stashes, with is exactly what it sounds like, puncture proof tyres, and electric blasts, all aiding you in defeating cops, and getting those lovely ratings. you can upgrade cars with speed, handling, witch improves you acceleration and turn speed (its single hand control where you move a finger in a radius behind the car in the direction you want to go.) and smash power witch lets you break through more things.
there are also lilt nice mechanic and map detail that make you want to explore the game further, like a river run section where you bash through a boat store, rapidly skipping and jumping around, trying to squeeze as much smash score out of it till the timer ends. also one you reach wanted level five (not like in GTA) the agency chases after you. the cars are tougher, and you get half as many ratings, making it harder to get money, so you would usually opt out and wait five minutes (or something).
all the characters like the chief cop and the gang leader, to the literal news reports which surprisingly, doesnt get that annoying after yelling, 'o MY gosh, this guy is racking up a pretty big bill for the SUPD.', or the lawyer that can get you out of the agency by raising your max wanted level to ten for $$$, all of them are pretty fleshed out and have some amazing art for the characters.
all in all, smash bandits is one of the most underrated Hutch games, being still available on the App Store to day, and a major part of my childhood.
