I always hated the Donald Trump one because it didn't predict Donald Trump would ascend to office and become the president.

Trump before that episode ever aired said multiple times that he'd run for president, and in 2002 he ran for president under a third party, i guess the writers for the Simpsons thought that was funny so they added a quick gag in that episode.

No it’s just a writers room full of smart individuals who can put gags in that most people assume will happen, think about all the predictions they missed as well, people only focus on the correct ones because, well, they were correct
