Here's a good strategy for pyro. Use the shotgun for long or mid range and use the flamethrower and extinguisher when they get close

i like using:
Stock Flamethrower
Scorch Shot
Power Jack

Basically i just use the scorch to jump up to whatever high ground there is, and snipe people with said weapon. then when i see people in like the middle of the map/control point, i find a health pack if i need one, scotch jump over there, and w+m1 them to death.
