Notifications feature for when someone you're following posts something

Thats what I thought would happen when you follow someone but no :(

I mean there's a "user" thing that shows who you follow memes
But what about notification when someone mentions you-

i meant every time someone you follow posts something and you get a notification. you can mention people???

There should be a thing cause there always something that mentions me and I don't notice until a year or so later
Searching it up only shows you memes/tags which most of the time is not on there
but comments honestly should work if it can be implemented like other websites
