Ok so basically chainsaw man starts off with denji being a homeless boy in deep debt for the yakuza his parents left him and they later attempt to kill him because they made a contract with the zombie devil to gain power so they kill him but Pochita gives denji his heart so he can live on for the exchange of seeing Denjis dreams so now denji can turn into the chainsaw devil
And then makima finds denji and takes denji in as her dog (yes literally)(I hate makima and you should too) and to work the devil hunters agency so for a while it’s just them killing devils and that’s hype as f**k because seeing a devil with chainsaws fighting other devils with cool abilities is cool as f**k
But later we there was an assassination on the whole devil hunters agency so most of the people working there have been assinated
Denji and his friends Aki and power had to fight the katana devil learning they want denjis heart for the gun devil who is the most powerful devil on earth
( forgot to explain devils are more powerful the more the thing they are based on is feared by people )
Ok here is where after the anime ends and part one continues so big spoilers
Ok as further the story goes on denji starts to question his sanity as if he’s lost his human emotions when he lost his human heart and begins to learn that he is only being used for his chainsaw powers because the chainsaw devil who is the most feared devil in hell is able to completely erase something from existence by eating the devil it’s linked to
( so basically if he ate the war devil, war would have never existed and never will )
Ok so here we start to learn how manipulative makima really is and she uses Aki’s and angel’s life so summon the gun devil who actually was already dead a long time ago and was being fought for by different world governments for the power of the gun devil
So yeah makima summons the gun devil to take power over it for the Japanese government
With this she has the gun devil possess Akis dead body and sends it to take control over denji for his chainsaw power
(Here denji doesn’t know what makima has done )So at this point denji has given up living thinking for himself after all the traumatizing stuff he’s been put through and decides so be makimas literal dog but right after, she kills power in front of him having denji doubt everything
