Not really, if anything the price of land would drastically reduce because the wealthy already buy up vast swaths of land and rent it out to those who can't afford it or speculate on it, which increases the demand for land increasing the price. A high enough land tax would punish those who don't utilize land efficiently (breaking land monopolies) and make land speculation impossible.

At the current spending rate of the federal government a sales tax would have to be at least 25%, which is absurd. I'm assuming you also want to lower the size of the federal government. Fair enough, but weren't you complaining about big businesses? Sales taxes hurt small businesses the most, the competitor to big businesses.
