I have a theory that the Therizinosaurus is blind; when it walked past Claire in her crashed ejector seat, its eyes were glazed over. I think it just heard the deer and thought it was an intruder on its territory, so it slashed the deer out of the way.

It might have mostly relied on sense of hearing. The T-rex might have communicated directions to it on how to kill Giga
