people on TV, plus the fact most dads aren't even around their child enough to see what their child deeply likes rather the dad is in jail, work or not in the child's life...

Yeah. My dad likes to listen to and take part in my interests and is spot-on with Christmas gifts. Legit, when I was trying to secretly watch anime as an 8 year old and he found out, he watched it with me just so I would feel comfortable. So like, yeah, ya do have to explain, cuz I can't relate.

If somebody's dad is working overtime, it's not exactly his fault that he can't be more involved in his child's life. It's how it is.

A lot of the time as kids get older, they start to hide their interests or feign interest in uninteresting things to please their parents, which is confusing to the parents. Sometimes the kids make it hard.
