Please note my comment regarding the delays in featuring - This is happening more and more.
It's very disheartening to craft these memes and not get any explanation as to why there is such a delay

Thanks for asking. A brief history, the cats stream is unique in that it was created October 2018 by the owner of Imgflip, is now the only "featured" Imgflip stream that is now run by users. All the other Imgflip featured streams (fun, repost, sports, reactiongifs, gaming) have Global Moderators as Stream Owners.
The original Stream Moderator on cats was RayCat, who later became the Stream Owner, then sadly deleted their account in October 2019 :(
IMO overall for the stream, the length of time from Submission to Featured status for all contributors is not unusual. Sometimes approvals happen right away, usually within 12 hours. Being a featured stream with a specific type of content, we review every Submission. There is a fairly high volume of submissions and smallish number of trusted Moderators, compared to other streams this size. That it is something you could help with.
Since you are a regular contributor to the stream, would you like to join the cats Moderation team? If you are interested, I'll ask the other Stream Owner.
I've had a day to think about this and on reflection, I'm not sure I would make a 'trusted' moderator.
