Their behavior is the epitome of OCD. They each clearly feel a compulsion to jump over the other. Once one cat does it, neither can stop, lest they be tortured with anxiety for not giving in to their compulsions. I'm sure they are fine and dandy, happy ol' cats, but they do have OCD. OCD is extremely common in domesticated animals. Animals simply weren't designed to live the lives they live when they are not out in the wild.
