You could do what I did:
I used old clothes,stained days and things like that,and kept making new things until I found what was easiest to make.Took a lot of material,but it was worth it.

I still wish I could learn how to... I've always watched how my parents use the machine but... Still...
I did a fitted t-shirt (that may be a bit too fitted, but hey, it's an excuse to work out a bit!), and fixed a turtleneck that's coming apart. I'm looking to try to do some more stuff... once I find time for it.
