930am marked the prize giving ceremony for the 13th annual Byron Bay Lighthouse Run. With a 7 am start for the 6km walk and 10 km run, some 60 or so participants and support crew attended the event on the outside lawn at the Beach Cafe at Clarkes beach.
Participant Charles Crawshaw (His gif above) upgraded last year's run with a 'World Peace by 2020" flag donning a backpack with a Fiji Flag, and a cape with the message 'World Peace by 2020: Pass It On : You're It".
"I am thrilled and honoured to be awarded "The Best Dressed" for this year and , more importantly, the fact that Lisa Parkes, recreated our conversation only moments before the award.
To the crowd, not only did she underline World Peace by 2020 conversation, she spoke (what I had shouted around the whole course) that "TUESDAY 15th September 2020" has been declared as the "LINE IN THE SAND" for World Peace. She spoke an alignment with the Byron Bay Lighthouse Run which simply thrilled me no end. Thank you Lisa Parkes, you are World Peace by 2020!
