If you're familiar with Rowen & Martin's Laugh-In, it should remind you of the guy on the tricycle that would always hit something and fall over. [useless history lesson follows]
On Laugh-In's first regular show that aired, they tried doing the same thing every other variety show did, including having a musical guest. The Strawberry Alarm Clock was that guest. It was the only episode that did this type of segment, from then on, they did not have a musical guest promote their current song, like the other variety shows did. In the Strawberry Alarm Clock segment, though, they did a lot of odd bits, similar to the Monkees music videos, that were humorous, but had nothing to do with the song. The tricycle guy falling over showed up in that video several times. I'm not sure if he was one of the group members or not, but the gag was played several times during the song. I don't know how many other households did it, but every time they played that gag, somebody in the room would shout, "Strawberry Alarm Clock!". I almost put SAC in the title, but the reference was just too obscure.
