The bullet has low mass high velocity, our body has high mass so gets very less recoil velocity in direction opposite to bullet ( conservation of momentum ). When the bullet hits us , again it transfers its momentum ( low mass , high velocity) to our body that experiences low velocity due to high mass in direction towards bullet. So , my guess is - he stays still.
