Only game I'm interested in buying in the near future is Control Resonate. The reason why games got so damn expensive besides government influence and stupidity is that the majority of AAA are now equal to mid to high budget Hollywood movies and people don't work for free.
Another major problem is the Gaming MSM that just as bad as the MSM we all know and loath. In their case it is a huge matter of play/pay for good game reviews among other thing. Then there is the Game Of The Year Award which at one time might have meant something but nowadays is worth as much as an Oscar.
Finally there is the woke/PC influence on gaming. Gamers are kind of smarter compared to other forms of entertainment. We do judge with our wallets big time and any hint of Sweet Baby Inc or similar will close up wallets real fast and tight. However there are still signs of woke/PC influence on games especially any current game with a Character Creator Menu. It used to be a gamer chose a Man/Male or Woman/Female Character. Nowadays it's mainly Type 1/Type 2.
The best thing that can happen to the videogame industry is another videogame industry crash like in the 1980s. This reset forced those succeeded to innovate and improve the games and hardware if they didn't want the whole industry to become completely extinct.
