i think he used his greatness to create life by beginning evolution on earth, that him saying "let there be life" was him beginning life by evolution.

also, the people who wrote the bible 2000 years ago didn't exactly understand a lot of scientific things that we do now. they wouldn't understand complicated things like biology and physics and astronomy. and it would be hard to read the Bible if it was much more complicated and more scientific and not as many people in the future could understand it and thus be Christian. which is why God probably told them to write it in a simplified manner, and why I believe that the evolution continues to be correct.
