Yes, we should help the poor. However, the main reason for us having stuff like EBT and Snap is for people who need assistance with providing for themselves and family before the can get a real job again. However, some of the people unemployed stay that way, either because they are too comfortable with the assistance to the point were now they are dependent on the government for a living. We should help those who are STRUGGLING, not those who are too dependent on the government.

Yes, like a single mother with young children, a middle-aged man who is the only one to care for a sick mother.
