Communists have infiltrated the Democratic Party for decades now. Many of them called themselves progressive. It started after the SDS riots at the 1968 Democratic national convention. Some of the radical weather underground realize they were getting no traction with a violent revolution. They chose instead to work within the political system. Realizing there was no support for a communist party, they joined into the ranks of Democrats.

I feel like there may be some kind of logical fallacy here somewhere but can't quite put my finger on it... 🤔 Correlation/Causation and all that jazz, for starters.

Loads of countries don't even have a party called "Democrats" anyway. That's a US thing. Social Democrats. Liberal Democrats. Christian Democrats. The Democratic Party of Albania? (Which is actually quite rightwing, apparently.) The German Free Democratic Party? (Also liberal/centrist. Oh, and seriously, people, let them out already. They've been locked up long enough, dammit. Free the Democratic Party, you barbarians. 😑)

And you'd have to define what you mean by "commie" too. (I mean, don't get me wrong: I use it too all the time as a joke lol, but what kind of commie are we talking about here? The kind that helps homeless veterans and single moms, or the scary killy kind that we study in high school History class?)

If you support communism you're a commie by definition. Not that hard to understand. You used two different definitions of support, an equivocation fallacy, to get around this. You went on to use different meanings of the word democrat in the same way.

You still haven't defined explicitly what you mean by "commie" though. I support some ideas that might be classed as "communist", but I sure as hell don't identify as a capital-C Communist.

The Democrat examples was just to point out that that also has different usages round the world. The Dem/Lib v Rep binary is a US thing.

Actually I did define commie as a supporter of communism, and if you had no point related to the topic on the word democrat it is just distracting natter with no real point. That you used "too" at the end means you where following the previous equivocation using the same reasoning.

It seems me me you don't know what communism actually is or are trying to move the goal post.

Thank you. That's what I was looking for. Based on that definition, I'm not sure the US Democrats really fit the "bill". Quite a few very rich folks in the party. But if they do decide to redistribute the wealth, let me know cuz most of us could use a few more pennies.

They however support communist ideals like lack of boarders, redistributing wealth, and common ownership of the means of production. They however want to be the ruling class and set social hierarchies with themselves on top, which no communist country has ever failed to embrace.
