Yep, but this is something that I have wondered about. What actually happens when a president defies the Supreme Court. Apparently there is no actual mechanism by which the court can enforce its rulings in regards to the Executive Branch since enforcing the law actually depends on the Executive Branch. Now we know.

This is a quasi-illegal Executive Order loophole that needs to be rectified. Executive orders were never meant to end-run the law or genuine Supreme Court rulings. For this action alone Joe Biden should be impeached . . . but that's not going to happen.

Impeachment has become a political farce. There needs to be some mechanism by which the Justice Department is FORCED to bring a rouge president -- even of their own current political party loyalties -- under control.

It does indeed need to go away. And he definitely needs to be removed for this, and many other reasons. You're right of course that he won't go before his bosses allow it. I'm still expecting a reenactment of a scene or scenes from the movie 'Dave'.
