I watched the clip of this exchange yet again, and it's even more painfully obvious what a staged gotcha moment this was. Just check their follow-up questions and the fact the phrase "JOHNSON: What is Aleppo?" was very quickly splashed across the bottom of the screen.

These journalists weren't really interested in hearing his thoughts about Syria, and neither are you.
