There are so many violations of the flag code here. It's so sad, the level of disrespect to the flag.

I realize the flag is just a piece of cloth to you to use as a fabric, but it's an emotional icon for a lot of good-hearted patriots, especially our veterans. It's really just a mark of respect to observe the flag code.

i am a vet and as proud of America and our flag as anyone. Using the flag disrespectfully is one thing. ...using items from the flag separately , stars, stripes ..etc......to use as bandanas, bikinis .....whatever I do not think is disrespectful at all. I love it. .... good to hear from you though as you appear to be a patriotic American

The flag code says it is. It is very clear on that. Do not cut the flag into clothing. It's really quite simple. It's actually *more* respectful to burn a flag if it's to properly dispose of an old one than it is to cut it into bikinis and beach towels.

But in essence this makes it a violation to wear a shirt , skirt. blouse, bandana, etc. with red and white stripes, or to wear a blue background that has stars on it. That is taking it to an extreme that crosses into the land of religious rigidity. Don't forget it represents US, but isn't us. WE are the people who decide freedom and liberty...not the symbol of it. For the symbol to be used , in the exact opposite intent that we stand for, is a perversion of the American concept to the highest degree. Is Wonder Woman insulting the flag? I have NEVER heard anyone say that. The still pic as a case in point also. She is holding 2 flags, but her bikini is not made of the flag, nor is it a flag.

Such disrespect to the flag and our nation, trivializing such a sacred icon of our nation's sacrifice. For shame.
