The marines wouldn't stand a chance, lol. Numbers, equipment, spec ops.. army is superior in every field but training when it comes to ground combat. Not that the marines aren't badass, but..
reply
0 ups, 1 reply
The Marines have jets, are part of the Navy which has more jets, cruise missiles and nukes. Game over.
reply
1 up, 1 reply
Army has anti-aircraft and plenty of missiles and rocket artillery of its own, not to mention a fat LOAD of attack helicopters. And if you're gonna throw navy into the fight, then I guess the army is gonna be backed by the AF? In which case you might as well just give up, any airpower you may be able to project from carriers is useless if the USAF is involved, not to mention they are the ones in charge of space warfare.. hope your navy isn't too dependent on satellites, bud.
reply
0 ups, 1 reply
The Air Force needs fixed runways which would get nuked on day one. The Navy has mobile airports which you have to find. AND most importantly the Navy has Submarines which you have to FIND. Game over. lol And cruise missiles are impossible to stop w/o a radar screen coverage of every possible path of flight and the weapons systems committed to those locations to stop them. And again, committed bases or defense locations would top the battle priority on day one.
reply
1 up, 1 reply
with USAF's control of satellites finding every surface group in the navy would be child's play, and sinking them.. well. Air dominance = bye bye. Not even gonna address the nuke issue considering we're talking about a power struggle if the civilian govt. disappeared. nuking your own territory is kind of a no-go. large scale cruise missile attacks at the most, and there is no way in hell cruise missiles are going to knock out all the air force bases on the continent before the navy runs out of missiles. marines can't hope to hold much territory beyond maybe just naval bases considering the numerical superiority of the army + lack of air support due to USAF. no territory, no resources. no resources, no industry. no industry no resupply, no resupply no way to fight.. or even eat. game over.
reply
0 ups
Ships move.. you find them, shoot a ballistic missile and no bueno. Does Army have guided missiles smart enough to fight ships? or Submarines? Ya never know, but I doubt it. Now ONE US ship destroyer class has what is called the VLS system which can carry 128 missiles. ONE ship.. ONE.. And ships have missile defense systems for anti ship missiles which do possess skills. lol

Technically the Marines would work with the Navy...somebody has to give them a ride.
reply
0 ups, 1 reply
Well true, I had forgotten that Navy and Marines go together, that would be an interesting fight then cause Army isn't as good as the Marines but Air Force is better than the Navy, ofc Navy could just send ICBMs at the Air Force and Army bases but then Air Force could launch counter attacks against the Navy with F-35s, I think in the end they would all be destroyed or end in a standstill cause it would be a fairly even fight

Imagine if partisan politics aka petty feuding children vying for power was instantly gone & they argued for the greater good instead.. Imagine if they could attend to the business of the masses vs being deadlocked by lobbyists and special interests. Imagine if they had to be in the room and listen to each other talk and EXPLAIN their own reasons in real time as to why they vote the way they do..

Let's understand that Kavanaugh has lied to Congress on multiple occasions... And has already gotten more of hearing than Merrick Garland was ever afforded.

If the GOP weren't in such a desperate race to pack the bench - prior to November... This nomination should already be - dead in the water.

She first mentioned this in 2012... So being a Democrat doesn't really change anything.

And for the record I DETEST the Clintons... But from their left. Bill and the DLC were given their start by right-wing billionaire money... Tho' Bill seems to have longstanding relationship with GHW Bush... Meaning that he could be trusted to overlook the Mena operation.

Another Koch-sucker - sitting on the bench for 30 years would qualify as a REAL problem for non-billionaires. Dude is a pathological liar. Do we NEED to put another Corporatist suck-up in that slot... Or would an impartial jurist be just too much to ask for? Temperament is important in a judge. Honesty and integrity, too. What he's displayed so far shows me why More Americans Oppose his nomination than support it... And why the GOP is in such a hurry to get him an clearly undeserved promotion...instead of an impeachment hearing for his lying during previous appointment hearings.

That is some high quality John Birch society Bullshit right there. How many times have YOU played that 'drinking game called 'the Devil's Triangle'? You goid at 'boofing'? The guy has shown himself to be a PATHOLOGICAL liar. He treated women disrespectfully (at the very least) back in high school - or are you a 'Renate alumni' association member as well?

The reason that the Koch brothers picked him - is BECAUSE of his LACK - of "interity". He'll back their messed-up agenda no matter what. You cheer now because you think that Roe v. Wade being essentially overturned will change something...it won't. It's iconographic public policy. Net Neutrality and censorship are actual public policies. He'll rule the way that they want him to on that as well. Since you seem to love Koch Brothers' propaganda - maybe you win't notice. But some of them are gay... Right? So what HATE you will be allowed to speak will likely be well circumscribed. Meanwhile California and New York will just become the 'abortion free States'... And poor wimen and girls in Kansas and Texas will just be out of luck - even in cases of **pe, incest or threats to their own lives from their pregnancies. And those that get knocked-up by Roy Moore - will just get a plane ticket paid for.

Dude has lied several times in THIS nomination hearing... And several times in past hearings, as well. Honesty and integrity are far more essential in Judges than Senators. Senators can be called out for their bullshit - when not by each other - by the courts.

But when the FIX IS IN... Where will you turn to - for actual justice?

No... Race is not an issue for me, either way, when talking about Womens' right to control their own bodies. If you had read what I wrote - then you'd know that I consider it an 'iconographic' issue - meaning it doesn't affect much either way - except perhaps how many women die of sepsis, or hemorrhage - or have children that they're not prepared to raise. Sure... You'll say that they'll be adopted... But how about the ones with special needs, or the pigmental challenge of being 'non-white'? As usual your concern with life begins at conception - and ends at delivery.

Are you aware what percentage of our foster care system kids wind up homeless and unprepared on their 18th birthday? How about you show your concern for life by doing something for THEM?

His record from the Bush administration is STILL under lock and key. But he has clearly lied about that based on his past hearings. See the Democracy Now link from above.

So you ARE a regular 'Devil's Triangle' player ... Who'd have guessed? I'm not a huge John Oliver fan... But THAT guy tore Kavanaugh apart...

Holy cow - how deep is the brainwashing in this country?

There’s no such thing as a person who’s a completely innocent adult human. Making it about whether a person is an angel or a devil is normal for third graders. We have due process for very good reasons. It’s not fool proof, but it’s the only thing keeping us from the Spanish Inquisition all over again.

THAT is the point.

Politicians who are manipulative exist on both sides of the aisle, always have. Nothing new AT ALL.

Everyone USEDTO KNOW THAT as a matter of course, that’s WHY they call them “politicians”!!

How is everyone so caught up in believing one side or the other with no actual evidence? And going along with slandering the crap out of people?
It’s so WEIRD!

As is seemingly ALWAYS the case - the most LIKED and LIKABLE member of a Republican administration is the wife (isn't Ivanka the '????First Lady'?). So they send her out - to distract - and buoy the rest by extension.

Like her Jacket - this is a multi-layered semiotic device that you have there. Both one of reconciliation - and on some level a new independence... Perhaps even a more credible long-term career in politics than the rest of the bunch.

Is she saying I'm leavimg him for a smarter, smoother, black guy? Or is she trying to soften the jagged edges of the administration? Could likely be read, in any number of ways - depending on the viewer

Those are indeed some interesting observations.

Independence might be part of the message, since Melanija is currently functioning as envoy on another continent, having removed herself via the air from Donald to the other side of the salty Pond.

If she were leaving Donald, then her heavenly, red striped tie-front dress must not have been sanctioned by the GOP.

Some commented that her dress was 'old', but the answer to such potential criticism seems to have already been included in her wardrobe, as the tie would seem to mimic a tongue sticking out - although, that also might be multi-layered, in that a stuck-out tongue does not always signify that one does not care (as in the message on the backside of that jacket from her visit to Texas in June), but also, in lofty Tibet, a greeting gesture.

Oh, Buddha...

Oh c'mon, money is definitely a big factor here.... Kavanaugh is sitting in wait for the SCOTUS, and so the stakes are much much higher -- therefore the potential money is as well.... She would not have gotten any money earlier, because her accusation wouldn't have been (purposefully) set up as a big last minute rush.... It is exactly because of the TIMING and shady maneuvers of all this (plus virtual entire lack of evidence), that leads me not to believe her.... Her testimony really didn't add much (and that 'quaver' in her voice didn't convince me either)..... *** The D's (and whoever is behind them) are going to use the 'shadow of a doubt' concept, and to completely reverse the 'innocent until proven guilty' standard to try to tank Kavanaugh.... For their 'guilty until proven innocent' shenanigans I will never forgive them; because, if it can happen at high-leve, it most SURELY can happen to YOU.

BlaseyFord never claimed there was **pe, did she? She claimed there was a drunken attempt, which is also punishable - if proven. Neither a criminal nor a civil lawsuit seems plausible, due to a red line called the statutes of limitation. But, if someone should choose to take their cue from their President, and not let red lines get in their way (say, by running for office), perhaps the statutes of limitations could be - cut?
