Cheney was a singularly bad man who partially manipulated George W. Bush -- and fully manipulated Colin Powell -- to "buy into" his well-orchestrated bullshit.

I saw Cheney's lies "for what they were" in real time. I was laughing at "yellow cake uranium" and portable nuclear weapons labs from the very beginning.

Appallingly, neither Bush nor Cheney could be bothered to prevent 9/11 despite the spot-on accuracy of Clarke's intelligence briefs.

What we have now is "Deplorable Donald" bad-mouthing the consensus of American intelligence reports going back to the foundation of the KGB, a vile organization whose vicious values Vladimir Putin embodies better than anyone alive today.

I realize American conservatives have few facts to support their largely-fabricated positions.

And so they concoct "alternative facts," "conspiracy theories" and indulge "wishful thinking" that thug-murderer Vladimir Putin (whose heart is set on destroying American democracy) is, at bottom, a good guy who will benefit America tremendously if only Cheater-In-Chief hops into bed with him.

Haven't we been assured that "There are good people on both sides?"

In fact, there aren't.

On Putin's side, it's all vility.

The more I learn, the less difference I see between the methods of the KGB/GRU and the CIA/NSA/Deep State. It's possible I just know more about the latter by now than you. I respect elements of the CIA for technically looking out for my well being, but the KGB is really just less evil in the relative sense than you think, they're basically doing the same job as our intel guys. If you cite me Anna Politkovskaya, I will cite you back many dozens of internal assassinations - oops, I mean suicides, car accidents, plane crashes, murder/suicides - by us too that you never hear about. I think we are less far off Pravda than you suppose.

But since I ceased depending on the corporate manipulators for my info, I have reason to believe the future may be significantly different than you think based on the WaPo/NYT/PBS. And as you say, time will tell.
