I was thinking along the lines of the 800 billion for shovel ready jobs. Did they blow the budget on shovels and not have anything left over to pay the users of said shovels?

You seriously need to look up the basics.

The Bush Admin took out full page ads in newspapers PRE RECESSION telling people that even if they ARE WORKING they might STILL qualify for foodstamps and welfare and should apply.

When the Great Recession began, Bush INCREASED individual food stamp allowances to accomodate the more expensive tastes of the formally better off who got laid off.

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) (Pub.L. 111–5), nicknamed the Recovery Act, was a stimulus package enacted by the 111th U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama in February 2009. Developed in response to the Great Recession, the ARRA's primary objective was to save existing jobs and create new ones as soon as possible. Other objectives were to provide temporary relief programs for those most affected by the recession and invest in infrastructure, education, health, and renewable energy"

No, instead the money went to all those do nothing dying small towns whose economy is based on RiteAid, the new Walmart 40 miles away, and ye olde Joe Bob's One Stop Gas-N-Liquor. Projection much?
I wonder who you stole that from, because other than repeat the knee jerk "Obwama gwave away fwee thtuff" like a wind up cymbal clapping circus monkey toy on meth, you say nothing at all.

You don't even know what Trickle Down Economics is, a Republican mantra since Ronald Reagan was Pres.

Let me explain it to you this way:

Trickle Down Economics
AKA
Reaganomics
AKA
Supply Side Economics
AKA
The 'logic' behind Trump's massive tax cut to the wealthiest 1%
AKA
The chief catalyst for every recession since and the overall decline of our economy and living standards for everyday Americans.

Google that for your next self congratulatory Wiki copy/paste job, ya fermented jizz suckling dimwit.

Trump's plan is at least a little different in as much as he is leaving the money with the companies that have a vested interest in doing things with it that provide an roi. How that works in the long term remains to be seen, but I do submit that we are getting at the very least short term returns in lower unemployment and corporate reinvestment, growth.
As for Bush's economy, I do cut him a "little" slack, as nations financial heart lay in rubble in New York City. The ripple effects lasted long into the Obama administration, and although I didn't agree with his handling, I can't deny that was still in play.

To date, Trump has done zero to rebuild infrastrucure (which while they may hire private contractors, is run and paid for by gov't, not companies).

The 2001 Recession was short lived.
The 2008 - 2012 had nothing to do with 9/11, but was the result of a collapse in the housing, derivatives, and stock markets, consumer spending going down because everyone suddenly realized they were maxed out, etc.

True, wasn't only W's doing.
Reagan's trickle down deregulation continues to leave it's lovely impact, exacerbating market swings.
Clinton also added to that pile. The impact of the Community Reinvestment Act is debated, but repealing parts of the Depression Era Act which prevented savings banks from investment banking was a big contributor.
But GW Bush's emulation of Reagan was his hallmark, so...

On some of these we'll have to agree to disagree. The encouragement of the banks to throw money everywhere they could into sub-prime was insane. It was so obvious in Arizona, where I lived and one of the harder hit states, that it was all going to collapse. I was surprised it didn't happen sooner.

I heard that in Arizona entire towns were being built whose economies were dependent on their own construction, and once that was done, that was that...

Don't know why people bought into this myth of the Democrats setting it up for Hillary in 2016 because she was a sure bet. They coulda nominated even Monica Lewinsky, the election was theirs to lose.
But the real deal is that Hillary would have been Bill Chapter 2 - same connections, same ideas, same business interests. These parties are corporations themselves, and they sit at the same table for dinner. The Dems screwed themselves because of greed. And the clueless dolts are talking about her running in 2020! If Ron Paul came out of retirement and was run against her, I'd be a happy man.

Surprise, Chandler, Gilbert and Glendale were the big builders. You could drive 4-5 miles in a straight line in 2002/03 in a straight line and it would be nothing but new home construction. 2-300 on a tract. It was insane. Actually I think Hillary had her own agenda and swallowed a lot of "frustration" with Bill. Had she not been laser focused on the Whitehouse since college, she would have dumped him decades ago. When you think about her non-acceptance of the outcome it shows. True it would have been a lot of the same cronyism.

Reminds me of the development where my aunt & family moved to in Puerto Rico back in the 70s, only on an even bigger scale. Us kids loved exploring the half built houses, blocks of them.

Yeah, for me to assume she's merely an extension of him is overly simplistic, but given their earlier real estate investent/swindles, too close enough. Can't believe they voted for her when she moved to NY simply for strategic reasons.

Her and Al Gore need to shut up and go away already.

The Anti-Trump narrative hasn't called him a closet homosexual who pulled a miracle by begating 2 children with a male to female transexual.
The simpler Stormy payoff narrative makes it easier for a certain demographic to comprehend, so a little gratitude?

Giuliani is senile, and obviously part of the the Hillary conspiracy to put Obama back in office in the final phase of Operation Communist Islamic Caliphate USA as planned by Soro's Bernie Sanders in Benghazi uranium pizza chains.
