Don't hate! because certain healthy foods can be really bad for you like avocado, coconut and chia.

We're talking about obesity. And yeah, anything can make you fat if you over eat it. But most people with a weight problem due to overeating aren't supersizing their salads. Though I am sure there are some outliers here.
Also, what makes you say that avocado and coconut are "really bad for you"? Just curious!

I know right? It can be very hard to resist. Though I do wonder. It seems like people are actually hooked. I may be wearing my tin foil hat when I say that some of the crap they lace these kinds of food with could be addictive. Just an odd ball thought.

I have to be absolutely starving to want to eat their food.

It actually IS true. They make foods both with chemicals that are legally addictive (sugar and caffeine just being the tip of the iceberg), as well as chemicals that bypass the stomach to brain signal that tells you you're full.

It also doesn't help one bit that the junk food is far too often much less expensive than healthy food.

I know that if I take these kinds of processed foods out of my diet, I tend to be less hungry and tired among other things. I also find that the weird
I'm stuffed but I could eat a horse" feeling also goes away. But let me get any amount of some of these certain processed items and it's like a crack head going back to the pipe. I was told that food cannot have this effect. But I definitely call BS. Like you say, they have actual scientific evidence on sugar to be specific.

I have seen things. My mother would sit down with enough ice cream and/or cake for at least 4 people and eat it in a sitting. Then she would take on whatever fad diet she got wind of that month and try crash dieting it off. I grew up watching this cycle. She is not remotely interested in exercise or modifying her diet in a healthy way.

My daughters are 8 and 10. I assume those who design some of this stuff don't have daughters of their own.
