Satire aside, the argument here is that the government owns weapons you have no way of owning or using. Do you have a fighter jet? Do you understand how it works? Can you shoot down a fighter jet? The answers to all of those are no.

If the government knows it can take us over completely, why haven't they?

Simple. Have you ever considered that they don't want to? That perhaps, politicians are people, not monsters? That maybe, just maybe, they care about the American lifestyle and feel an obligation to maintain it?

I think the hope is that the military would not fire wantonly on citizens. I don't know of any American who would attack our military; outside of a few crazy militias, most gun owners are very patriotic and support the military.
