Thanks for posting this. Most people are so incredibly ignorant about the definition of terms - I almost gave up trying to educate them.

Well terms do change in definition over the years. I hate how touchy we are on all subjects because i dare not say my theory on non-body dismorphic transgenderism to anyone i know. I think it just comes from a rejection of strict gender roles and an assumption that if you arent in one, you're in the other. Or in the case of those calling themselves non binary, they reject both genders and their prescribed roles. In either case i think that it is simply the overdefined gender role causing a disconnect between a person and their inner identity. No gender roles (men dont need to be tough, women dont need to cook, etc) and you'd have less, maybe no, disconnect. Imo

There could be quite a lot of biology added here, too, but I am really tired of the subject. Thanks for discussing.

Good use of the meme. I don't enjoy the lack of empathy which is so prevalent towards people. This site (and world) needs to be a fun and welcoming place for everybody. They are not hurting anyone by identifying with a different gender.

Americans will hate this, I guess. There is a very interesting German book by Christian Seidel: Die Frau in mir - ein Mann wagt ein Experiment (The woman in me - a man dares an experiment). Not very surprisingly, it hasn't been translated into English. Americans be like: one laguage only, one gender only per one sex, imperial units system forever - who cares about the rest of the world (sorry - I owe a lot to the US, as they were 30 years and more ago, but now I have to mention this - it is really sad, also for me).

But behold., Americans, this is a prediction (well, guess by whom):

No question - we will have total gender fluidity then, and only if you want to have the old extremes you will have to do something drastic. Yoiu better start to adjust!

Oh im all for a shit ton of genders and ill use whatever pronoun they want. Hell ill even get used to asking for pgps. What is clear by the need for distiction of these varying genders is that they have distinct boundaries. I think that if gender boundaries had never existed, there would be no boundaries anyone ever found themselves at odds with and therefore would be no transgender individuals. As a cis gendered person myself, im totally open to the idea that im missing some important nuance but thats my assessment.

There is nothing wrong with identifying with the gender of your sex (I do that at the moment, too, for very specific reasons) as long as you don't bully those who don't. AS to the boudaries: weel, the y are given by your sex organs (let those live, too, who really feel that they have to change this by surgery) - and that will only change when we have the organs of both sexes. Then we will be totally free in defining ourselves.
