I once awoke from dream that I can no longer recall, but I was so overwhelmingly happy with the life I believed was real that it lingered in me for a solid 5 minutes after I awoke and went about my daily business. I remember bending over my bathroom sink, brushing my teeth because I had a bad taste in my mouth. It was in the middle of this brushing that reality suddenly dawned on me. That what I thought to be real, was nothing but a dream. I nearly collapsed and began to cry uncontrollably. And it just kept hitting in waves with every new aspect of the joy being stripped from my reality one thing after another. Like the two versions of my life exchanging body blows as they passed each other. This reality eventually winning out. Grounding me once again. So much depression as a result. How can something be so real and then not be at all? Why would my own mind pull such a horrible trick on itself?

Well dreaming about what we want is pretty normal. When I first broke my neck I would dream I was fine and playin sports etc. It would suck when I woke up and couldn't even turn my head again. Of course now I've been hurt so long even my dreams mostly have me feeling that way. Not sure which is worse honestly....

I'm working but nothing as physical as my last job. I push myself too far and can knock myself down for a couple days. It's all about learning my limits and trying to expand them. I will never be like I was before though...
Thanks for the kind words!

Indeed, you learn what things you can handle and what you can't. It's really hard on your pride, but pain has a way of overruling that type of thing for sure.

I once had a extremely vivid dream that I was a fly dreaming of being a human. When I woke up I was totally unsure if I really human or simply dreaming of it. But the truth as I learned much later on is that I am not even here. Waking life is too a dream, our true nature is Spirit not body. We're still safe in Heaven dreaming only of exile.

I dreamed I ate a giant marshmallow and in the morning my pillow was on the floor and my giant marshmallow was savi! I had been saving it for breakfast in bed but i guess i got hungry during the night. Oh well.

I was fighter pilot in a dream once. Ended up getting shot down and couldn't eject. Somehow survived impact with the ocean, but sunk to the bottom. I guess it wasn't too deep because I made it to the bottom without too much water leaking in, but it was clearly only a matter of time and there was no way to get out. I had a pistol with me. Eventually I removed it and shot my self in the head. I awoke instantly. It was a really crazy moment. My ears felt like they were ringing when I awoke.

I've lived through realities that have seemed like dreams. Especially as a child. One time when I was about 10 years old me, my two brothers and can couple friends were walking through some woods, making our way to who knows where. We all stopped and started making plans about where we were going. Everyone started walking again, but I was slower than everyone else. I started to hear a ringing in my ears and stopped and remember looking around to see where it was coming from. No one else seemed to hear it, they just kept walking and left me behind and eventually alone. I actually had a feeling that my legs wouldn't work. Suddenly a man appeared. He was about six feet tall, white t-shirt, blue jeans, bald, his skin color was like orange -gold. This guy looked at me, passed me and kept walking in the direction that my siblings and friends had gone. I didn't feel frightened, actually kind of a feeling of wonder and well being at the same time. When this being had passed and I couldn't see him anymore I was able to walk again. I caught up with with everyone else and asked if they knew who that guy was and they didn't know what I was talking about. I explained what happened and they thought that I was making up a story and laughed at me. I never talked about about it after that until now.

I had one where I was in space and the ship blew.I died slowly suffocating.
I've also had one where the zombie apocalypse happened and all those I knew as friends and family were zombies and I had to kill them so I could survive. It ended with those who survived sending atomic bombs to kill the zombies. And I died again after incredibly real but fake pain.

I've had a dream fairly (not the one before today, but one earlier) recently about an Earth-like planet being destroyed; at least in part as only its crust had significant damage... I doubt anything survived though (other than the one to blame)
