I had a family member who worked in a library for 20 years BEFORE the internet.

I've been heavily exposed to it and it's simple AF enough to question the local drinking water quality. :{D

Cool. I do believe by reserching though the use of books makes you retain alot more. Also along the way tend to ask more of the information and though different avenues usally learn more retentive knowledge. General knowledge is life long and mostly from trial and error we can discover new things
Google is just telling you the answers wich is great dont get me wrong but to learn something never seen before and pass that information on is a gift in its self. O and yep break out the scotch. Its time to get smashed and crank the guitary friend :)

It could be that the refresh rates on screens puts humans in a sleep state.

A physical book only has that effect on your eyes over time and probably a better sense of imagination in fiction's case.

I think I mentioned that guy Primitive Technology on youtube to you, right? He does survival stuff in Australia. Like how to build shelter and make baskets and clay pots.

I use wikipedia's often and you'll click on a link to something else and end up reading several pages on several things that caught your eye.

I play a little guitar and I mean amateur a little. I can do Dick Dale's Misirlou fairly well. :{D

Very true i do often sorce alot of information from wiki. And its helpful for scimatic drawings of components etc. Especially when at work it does save alot of time. And if corse if googling boobs is classed as research then hell yeah i "bone" up on the subject lol. Cool bro love all types of music. Part of gigging is alot of pratice
Evan the boring stuff of running scales and patterns is important. Especially for fast lead. Van halen and angus young etc. Lol at my age a 2 hour show and i feel like i have run a marathon :) so unfit compared to my younger days :)

Awesome. Yeah i have an electronic drum kit . But im more of a guitar nut. Just pratice the major and minor scales with extensions my friend. Speed comes with cofidence :) and hell yeah love blazing away. But when i proform i generally stay reasonable sober until after the gig. And yeah mrs smirkin is the love of my life :) but in my younger day hell yeah :)

when you play a gig, do you really get to movin' while playing?

when I listen to Dire Straits Money for Nothing, I can totally imagine the way I'd move playing that same riff.

I'm going to give it a try. See if I can retain me some scales.

Lol awesome meme bro :). An yeah i move alot. Used to have wireless lead so i could Just wonder off into the crowd. And i have a bad habbit of climbimg uo onto stuff. I remember one gig going tits uo off of the top of a stack amo and had to finish the song laying on the ground next to rhe stage. Later i got asked if it was part of the show. Umm no it was the better part of a 2 bottles of jack daniels lol so aftet that i started not drinking until after the show. I have one before and one on stage and thats it. I don't play stoned either. But for rhe encore hell yeah the last tune is always the best :) and the trick to good guitar is have fun with it :)
