I have several Memes I haven't posted for just that reason. I just started on Jan 1st and I surely don't have to time look and look for similar ideas so unless I feel confident I am being original I have tried not to post lol people get tore up if they think you stole their idea especially if you get a better response than they did.

I look at it this way: is good for classic memes to make comebacks from time to time, otherwise we forget about where this whole thing got started.

Absolutely. I found a mobile platform game I liked enough to join its forum (first time I'd ever decide to do that) and within two weeks I was so turned off from the experience that I deleted game. Seriously, you'd have thought I broke into someone's private residence! Now I read a forum beforehand to see how territorial/self-absorbed the kids on the playground are before deciding to join. People need to relax!

i've only been forum crawling recently and i've remembered why i don't do it lol. then i remember the new people that are trying to learn from it and i think of the examples being set, and i really have to try and raise that standard :(

Same with big time game wikis. Wikis, with curse, not wikias. Wikias tend to be ok, but official wikis, geez. I saw this guy add a bit of funny trivia to a page. Within 30 minutes the fun-killing admins came on, banned the dude, reverted his edit and claimed he had vandalized the page. He added 2 words.

Heck, it's even happened to me browsing wikia forums, people need to freaking chill out. Terribly sorry I shared my opinion on your hatchet themed demon worship, ya jerks.

Same thing happens with plagiarism. No matter what you do, when you have got the same essay that thousands of other people have got, you can never avoid plagiarism. Somewhere, sometime, someone has written a paper similar to yours.
