It has some of the best side stories of any Yakuza game. That is very high praise considering how Yakuza 4 and 5 had great and sometimes hilarious side activities. Yakuza 6 takes it a step even further.
The progression system is the same as Kiwami 2, and it’s 500 times better than any skill tree that has ever existed in video games. Skill trees need to die and never get resurrected. I’m glad Yakuza moved away from them.
The main plot is a lot more simple. Even though some parts are extremely stupid and make no sense, it’s nice to have a game that only focuses on one protagonist. Yakuza 5 had five playable protagonists with a story spanning 60 hours. This more simple and less bloated game is a welcome change of pace.
