A known faulty lab service and evidence drug using technician used as a regular prosecution professional witness that made up labs reports when testifying in court and a death row case where evidence was, and still is, suppressed resulting in conviction of a man subjected to an unfair trial.

The crime lab which employed the technician in question was under the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Police Department and was not answerable to District Attorney Harris. The judge who raised the questions and blamed Harris was the wife of the defendant's attorney. The lack of proper supervision by the Police Department of this technician led to Harris dismissing 1,000 charges relating to his work. Harris wrote a new policy for informing potential defendants of potentially tainted evidence as a result of the failure of the Police Lab. Harris took responsibility for the problem, saying "The Buck Stops Here." Those are the facts.

The Police Lab was the source for the D.A.'s technical support for decades before Harris took office and still has that role today, It is not like she came into office and did things to make this guy a bad employee of the Police Department. She trusted that the Police Department and his supervisors were doing their jobs. When it became clear that the Chief of Police had let a bad actor stay in place and taint evidence, she took action that was available to her. It seems that you want to blame her, in spite of the facts. Nothing new here. By the way, it is not OK that this guy did what he did.

That does not absolve her of perpetuating the fraud.

The allegation is patently untrue. What happened is a court ordered some prisoners released early due to overcrowding. Lower-level attorneys argued against his and said prisoners were needed for "Fire-fightng." There are no records of any prisoners being held beyond their sentences. Harris ordered all lawyers under her to not use this argument again. It appears that extremist Tusi Gabbard is the source for most of this incorrect information. Just because someone says something bad about someone you hate that does not make it a fact. People on the right are growing tired of these accusations that go nowhere according to Fox News. I know how they feel.
