Hmm October 7th was on Saturday, a certain Jewish day called Shabbat happens every Saturday, this day is when everyone gets of from work and disconnects from the internet and have feasts with their family, so those soldiers were not there because of a Jewish event. Remember majority of the IDF are Jewish, and the ones that were there, were taken by surprise as they were fresh out of training.
