Homer the idiot pays the bills

"Does the best he can" is an odd way to describe sleeping through his work day every day my dude.

And the Simpsons are usually portrayed as constantly stuggling to make ends meet, especially in the earlier seasons before seasonal rot took over.

And he really doesn't always keep his family together. There are a tone of episodes where he f**ks up and nearly destroys his marriage, and honestly Marge should have dumped his ass years ago.

He's kind of a jackass, which was always the point of Homer. He was intended to be a parody of the bumbling idiot husbands of contemporary domestic sitcoms.

I agree with both of you, he's a bit of a jackass, but no-one is perfect. Marge keeps things together. I'm sure he would find a job and work harder if he loses this one.

Homer lives matter

Not everyone is perfect, so he does the best he can while paying all the bills.

oh i also forgot to mention. He owns his own house lol.

heres a question would you rather have Homer as a father that has a car, goes on holidays, pays for chooling. He even pays for the daughters music lessons. Works full time, so strangely isnt a bad role model even though hes an idiot. Or a father that comes across as COOL a muthaf$@cker, gets tons of girlfriends, but does drugs, doesnt give a sht about his kids. pays no pills but is deemed cool by his mates. Ill take the Homer idiot over many other types of idiots, that's for sure. All i need to worry about if im his son, is i get strangled for being a dick. But ill have food , water and shelter and a hug here and there.
