Those plants, btw, are legal as well, which is why they still are running and no moves have been made to eliminate them, only to get rid of leftover plutonium after use so they can't be used for bombs.

If the Russians are above war, why did the Cold War even happen? Besides, Russia didn't even have nukes back in WW2, so that statement has nothing to do with the nuclear subject.

Cold wars are fought with the lives of the citizens of pawn countries. Pretty much every modern war after ww2 has been the US vs Russia even if neither one fired a single shot. Every Middle Eastern civil war, government overthrow, and allegiance swap has been orchestrated by the US or Russia in the struggle for world domination. The Cold War never ended.

Be thankful that our lives are spared at the cost of peace for those unfortunate souls born in the Middle East. They fight and die for us and our enemies so we and they don't have to. Their sacrifice provides us with better lives, plenty of resources, and saves the world from total war between two super powers.

Your nukes statement itself is what has no relevance. A people that lost around TWENTY FIVE TIMES MORE PEOPLE THAN AMERICANS EVER DID can be trusted far better than we not to go carelessly throwing its weight around in the world and invading remotely as much as we do.

Um, sorry, but I don't think you learn from history very well. That same idea was common in the late teens and early 20s. The popular belief after WW1 was "No more war. This was the war to end all wars!" They thought that since they had gone through something so terrible and devasting (the biggest war in history at that time!) that clearly no one would ever want another war like it. They were wrong. Another war was started and, as I'm sure you know, ended up being way worse than even the previous one.
All to say, I'm well aware of the statistics of the horrible Eastern Front. But unfortunately, a nation can suffer those losses and still not learn. And times have changed in Russia and around the world.
