When I used to ride the Mardi Gras floats when I belonged to the Krewe of Hercules (Houma, La.) and I'd have case upon case of throwing beads, OMG! We'd still have those damn things floating around the house for a year! Lmao! :)

(How about this Salvador Pony Dali?). I'm so used to reacting to thinks, not thinking about what I'm doing but just doing it. A lot of jobs I've done are of a dangerous nature (tree service, particularly storm work, structural movers, things like that, when something happens, if you stop to think, you most likely will be injured or worse. Sitting and planning something out is a new concept to me..lmao! :)

She snuck that pic on me on my phone. Ever since my heart surgery in 08, the need to nap has been strong. I expect if I visit and xonk out, Facebook will have some interesting new pics.

A coal miner friend in W. VA had his girls put his hair in pigtails. His hair wasn't really long, but they did it.

My nieces and nephews were a blast before I got married. Usually, it was just things they said. My one niece, àge 4 at the time, wished me happy birthday and advised me that since I was now 20, I could get married. My birthday is in early August. By christmas I'd met, shacked up, and married my wife. Lasted almost 39 years.

I woke up with pigtails and and painted nails, actually painted fingers too! Lol. 39 years! Glad to hear that! :). I've always liked kids, but it wasn't until I had my own when I realized how funny and resourceful, intelligent, and loveable they really are. I love spending time with my nieces and nephews and and the younger kids in my huge (mom's side) of the family. I'm originally from Pittsburgh, my mom is 1 of 8, 7 girls, 1 boy! Her father was a coal miner for 53 years!! Had Black Lung (what do you expect for starting work in the coal mines after quitting 4th grade?). I have more 1st cousins (36?) with kids than you can shake a stick at! :)

Not from as far south as you: Youngstown, but have spent the majority of my life in northern Indiana.

For the longest time, I thought I only had 3 first cousins. Discovered Dad had 6 half sibs. I've got a cousin on here, not first, but close enough I wouldn't date his sister.

I've got 3 brothers, 2 sisters. My ex has 4 brothers, 2 sisters. My kids have a whole passle of cousins. Most are married.

Yeah, being a parent is great. The best times are when they're young. They grow up too soon, and then it starts all over again.

When Cindy was 5, I got her a pink, teddy bear with a music box inside. My ex tried to say she'd never like it. She had, and liv3d that bear until she was in her late 20s, and only lost it because of the bum of a boyfriend she had. She'd thought she'd list it years earlier.

My two nieces had the Flu last week, I didn't get the flu, but I sure the hell got the congestion/runny nose, sinus headache, blah, blah, blah blah! Don't forget to tell your girls that this was inspired and dedicated to them! If I get on the Front Page I'll owe them some Pountine! Of course you'll have to buy it, but it's the thought that counts, right? lol :)
Seriously! :)

Since I worked nights so much of my life, my kids learned early on to let Daddy' sleep. Before they learned, though...

When The Noodle was a baby, she slept in the same room as Mommy and me. It didn't matter what time I went to bed, she'd be sitting up, hands on the rail of her crib, feet sticking between the bars, and her face peeking out at me. "Daddin. Daddin Daddin..." She wouldn't stop until I went over and picked her up. I don't know how she acted when I had to leave town for a few days because of a funeral. I got back in the wee hours of the morning, headed to bed, and, like she never missed a day, head hit pillow and "Daddin, Daddin, Daddin"

She's still that loving after 38 years.

I loved it when it happened. More than once little Tinken Baben joined Mommy and Daddy for sleepy bed time.

The Tinken part of her nickname is two fold: 'tinky diapers but also, when Dadden changed her diaper when we brought her home, she tried to tinkle on me. Baben came from my response to her Dadden Dadden Dadden greeting. One day I walked over to her crib, looked her in theveyecand started saying "Baben Baben Baben" to her Dadden Dadden Dadden. It became a b
Game she loved.
